Mustang Sally Lyrics - Sundance Head

Mustang Sally, think you better slow your mustang down.
Mustang Sally, think you better slow your mustang down.
You been running all over the town now.
Oh! I guess I'll have to put your flat feet on the ground.

All you want to do is ride around Sally, ride, Sally, ride.
All you want to do is ride around Sally, ride, Sally, ride.
All you want to do is ride around Sally, ride, Sally, ride.

One of these early mornings, oh, you gonna be wiping your weeping eyes.
I bought you a brand new mustang 'bout nineteen sixty five
Now you come around signifying a woman, you don't wanna let me ride.

Syesha Mercado - American Idol 7 Top 24 Semifinalists

American Idol fans may long remember the name Syesha Mercado. This young singer is rumored to make the top 24 on season7 of American Idol. She formally tried out for "The One" on ABC, is the daughter of a motown back-up singer and majored in theater in college.

Ramielle Malubay - American Idol 7 Top 24 Semifinalists

Ramiele Malubay is a Filipino-American , a 20 year old Sushi waitress from Florida, she auditioned in Miami and sang Aretha Franklin’s Natural Woman. She’s only 4″11 and looks really funky.

During Ramiele Malubay’s audition, she mentioned that she wants to be the first Asian American Idol.

Kristy Lee Cook - American Idol 7 Top 24 Semifinalists

Oregon native Kristy Lee Cook is one of the early season seven American Idol favorites. She is the beautiful blonde who moved to Texas to follow her musical dreams. Until Kristy moved to Texas a few years ago to pursue her music career, she was living in a log-cabin style home, surrounded by pine trees, in Selma, Oregon, and riding her horse, Midnight, almost every day. Putting Midnight, an Arabian, through her paces usually meant jumping, racing, and swimming in the river…most of which Kristy did bareback.

All-American and loves to ride bareback? What is not to love about Kristy and her chances on Idol?

Kady Malloy - American Idol 7 Top 24 Semifinalists

Kady Malloy, 18, from Houston, Texas was the standout at the “American Idol 7″ auditions.

Simon likes her so much he tells her, “Of all the people we’ve seen so far this year… you’re the best so far. Super, super talented.” Kady Malloy is one to watch for “American Idol” 2008.

Joanne Borgella - American Idol 7 Top 24 Semifinalists

Joanne Borgella was formally a plus-size model. She actually won Mo'Nique's Fat Chance reality show in 2005. This year, Borgella hopes to be our 7th American Idol. She once sang the National anthem at Madison Square Garden.

Rumors have Joanne making it to at least the final 24. After that, it's all about viewer votes.

Carly Hennessy Smithson - American Idol 7 Top 24 Semifinalists

The former Carly Hennessy who is the new Carly Smithson has caused some controversy since appearing on American Idol season 7. Carly Smithson’s story is compelling. Two years ago, the Irish high-class lass with a star-spangled ass got tossed from the U. S. because of immigration issues.

The former Carly Hennessy was accepted to go to Hollywood with American Idol, but never made it as she was sent back on a plane to contemplate her navel for a couple of years. Now, Carly Smithson has resolved her Visa issues, appeared on American Idol 7, wowed the judges once more and has been given a pass to Hollywood, for real this time.

What is causing a stir, however, is that the hard luck Irish miracle, Carly Smithson is not the amateur that many thought her to be. In fact, as Carly Hennessy the Irish singer has had a recording contract with a major player, MCA Records and has put out an album.

Brooke White - American Idol 7 Top 24 Semifinalists

Brooke White is rumored to be going to Hollywood! She sang for the judges in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and received three votes to move on.

White has worked as a nanny to twin one-year-old girls and claims that she's never seen an "R" rated movie, doesn't drink and doesn't smoke. The 24-year old is from from Van Nuys, California.

Amy Davis - American Idol 7 Top 24 Semifinalists

Sexy Amy Davis is from Cedar Lake, Indiana and has performed in a band for years and was even a second-round qualifier for Nashville Star. Some might think this experience may disqualify Amy from American Idol. Others, however, take a look at her and are convinced otherwise.

Amanda Overmyer - American Idol 7 Top 24 Semifinalists

Amanda Overmyer is a rock singer and inspired to be our next American Idol!

From Mulberry, Indiana, this motorcycle chick easily stood out in the crowd at her Atlanta audition. But then she showed she's belonged on the big stage with her tune of “Mean Woman” by Janis Joplin. Ladies and gentlemen: a female Chris Daughtry!

Alex Lushington - American Idol 7 Top 24 Semifinalists

Alex Lushington goes by the nickname "Miz Alex" and is rumored to have made it into the top 24 semifinalists on FOX's season 7 of American Idol following her audition in Atlanta, Georgia. The song that earned her a ticket to Holyllwood is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

Lushington is from Douglasville, Georgia and is just 16 years old.

Alaina Whitaker - American Idol 7 Top 24 Semifinalists

Alaina Whitaker didn’t lack confidence on American Idol last night. When asked if she looks like Carrie Underwood, the 16-year old from Oklahoma responded:

"I’d like to think Carrie Underwood looks like me."

We like the confidence - but we loved the voice and the fact that she’s moving on to Hollywood.

Asiah Epperson - American Idol 7 Top 24

Asiah Epperson belted out the Leann Rimes tune, “How Do I Live,” in honor of her father. In one of the more sincere, tragic back stories to ever accompany a contestant, Epperson’s dad passed away in a car accident mere days before she tried out.

As you can see below, though, Asiah’s voice carried her through to Hollywood. This was no pity vote. Once she exited with her golden ticket, Paula Abdul broke down in tears and had to leave briefly. Probably to mourn. Possibly to get more liquored up.

American Idol 7 Top 24 Contestants

American Idol 7’s Hollywood round eliminations were presumably filmed earlier this week, and now an insider has revealed a list of the show’s top 24 contestants.

On Tuesday, “about 16 of the talent-show contestants — no one from Fox television would say exactly how many — were filmed emerging from their cars and going up Pasadena City Hall’s steps,” the Pasadena Star News reports. “Ariel Penn, who heads the city’s film office, said she believed the Fox show might have used City Hall as a substitute for the Civic Auditorium. Normally, Penn said, the finalists audition in the auditorium’s Gold Room and are filmed going up the steps outside.”

The Civic Auditorium’s steps weren’t usable due to construction, and its general manager, Rick Barr, told the paper that the filming “is not an audition, it’s an elimination thing — they’re not singing and dancing. They find out whether they go on or not.”

Watch American Idol 7 Hollywood Round Live Online

All 164 talented contestants will endure a grueling rehearsal and audition schedule during the Hollywood round as they try to make the Top 24. The Hollywood round Part 1 will be shown on Tuesday, Feb. 12 at 8PM ET/PT and Part 2 shown on Wednesday, Feb. 13 where the top 24 Semifinalists will be announced.

Although viewers won't see it play out on television until Feb 12th & 13th, American Idol has allegedly selected its Top 24 seventh-season semifinalists. "The Top 24 were chosen today - and no, I have no updates at this time." -- Joesplace

"Joesplace'" claims appeared to be supported by a Pasadena Star-News report in which Rick Barr, the general manager of the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, confirmed American Idol filmed at the auditorium on Tuesday.

"Fox officials don't want people around here," Barr told the Star-News. "This is not an audition, it's an elimination thing - they're not singing and dancing. They find out whether they go on or not."

The show was also seen filming about sixteen American Idol 7 contestants arriving in and emerging from Ford vehicles on the steps of Pasadena City Hall early Tuesday morning.

"I can confirm that we are shooting today, but details are confidential," - Fox publicist Jill Hudson

"Two people working on the film crew" reportedly said that they were "filming a commercial," however additional details were not made available, including the exact number of contestants present for the shoot. As one of the show's three major sponsors, Idol contestants regularly appear in Ford commercials throughout each season's broadcast run.

Idol has filmed segments for previous Idol installments on the steps of Pasadena Civic Auditorium and in the building's Gold Room, Ariel Penn, Pasadena's head of the city's film office, told the Star-News.

However the auditorium's steps are currently closed for construction, which Penn cited as a potential explanation for why the City Hall filming may have occurred.

Idol's seventh-season is currently entrenched in its audition-episode broadcasts, which will end with the show's February 6 broadcast. The initial portion of the Hollywood Round -- where 160 hopefuls get narrowed to the season's 24 semifinalists -- filmed in late November. Check out American Idol 7 Full Schedule.
